18 U.S.C. 2257 Statement

This statement is made in respect of the requirements of 18 U.S.C. § 2257 and 28 C.F.R. Part 75, and of the equivalent record-keeping obligations that may apply in other jurisdictions.

1. JAV.CHAT is not a producer

JAV.CHAT is a metadata catalogue and discovery index. JAV.CHAT does not produce, film, direct, photograph, edit, upload, host or store any visual depiction of actual or simulated sexually explicit conduct. We publish release codes, titles, synopses, performer and studio names, cover artwork and links, all of which are supplied to us by third-party content feed providers and affiliate programmes.

All visual material that appears on or is reachable from JAV.CHAT is produced, hosted and distributed by those third parties. With respect to that material JAV.CHAT acts solely as a provider of an online index, and is therefore not a "producer" as that term is defined in 28 C.F.R. § 75.1(c).

2. Where the records are held

Records required by 18 U.S.C. § 2257 and 2257A for the depictions indexed here are maintained by the original producers of that material — the studios and distribution platforms that created it and that supply our feeds. Requests to inspect those records should be directed to the producer identified on the originating platform, which is reachable through the outbound link shown on the relevant page.

Where a page on JAV.CHAT does not make the originating platform clear, contact us through the notice form quoting the exact URL and we will identify the supplying provider for you.

3. Age of performers

JAV.CHAT requires every feed provider it works with to warrant that all persons depicted in material supplied to us were at least 18 years of age at the time the material was created, and that the provider holds the records required to evidence that.

JAV.CHAT has a zero-tolerance policy towards any depiction of a minor. If you believe that any material indexed on this site depicts a person under the age of 18, report it immediately through the notice form, selecting "Other legal matter". Reports of this kind are treated as the highest priority: the entry is removed on receipt, before any assessment, and the supplying feed is suspended pending investigation.

4. Non-consensual material

The same procedure and the same priority apply to any report that material was created or is distributed without the consent of a person depicted in it. Use the notice form and select "Personal data / right of publicity".
