18 U.S.C. § 2257 Exemption Statement

This statement is published in accordance with 18 U.S.C. § 2257 and 28 C.F.R. Part 75, and sets out the record-keeping position of jav.chat (the "Site").

Exemption statement

All visual depictions displayed on the Site are exempt from the provisions of 18 U.S.C. § 2257 and 28 C.F.R. Part 75 because they do not consist of depictions of conduct as specifically listed in 18 U.S.C. § 2256 (2)(A) through (D), but are instead depictions of non-sexually-explicit nudity or of simulated conduct, or are otherwise exempt because the visual depictions were created before 1 July 1995.

JAV.CHAT is an index of catalogue metadata and promotional artwork. The operator of the Site is not the "producer", as that term is defined in 18 U.S.C. § 2257 and 28 C.F.R. § 75.1(c)(1)–(2), of any of the visual content referenced on the Site. The operator does not film, produce, edit, upload or host sexually explicit material.

Where the records are held

Any visual content referenced from the Site is produced and hosted by third-party studios, distributors and affiliate partners. Those producers are the custodians of the records required by 18 U.S.C. § 2257, and each maintains its own 2257 compliance statement on its own website.

For records relating to a specific title, refer to the 2257 statement published by the producer or distributor of that title on the site that hosts it.

Age of performers

Every performer depicted anywhere on the Site was at least 18 years of age at the time the material was created. The Site operates a zero-tolerance policy toward any depiction of a minor.

We require our feed partners and distributors to warrant that all performers in supplied material were adults and had provided documented consent, and that the age-verification records required by law are held by the producer.

Zero tolerance and prohibited content

We categorically prohibit, and will not knowingly index or link to, any material depicting minors, any non-consensual material, any material produced through coercion, trafficking or exploitation, any content recorded without the knowledge of the persons depicted, and any content involving violence, bestiality or incest.

Any such item found in an automated feed is removed as soon as we become aware of it, and the supplying partner is suspended pending review.

Reporting a violation

If you find any content on the Site that you believe depicts a minor, was published without the consent of a person depicted, or otherwise breaches the policy above, report it immediately to dmca@jav.chat or through the removal form on our DMCA / Content Removal page. Mark the subject line "URGENT — Prohibited Content". Reports of this kind are reviewed with priority and the material is removed pending investigation.

Confirmed reports involving minors are also referred to the competent authorities.
